Tata Motors owned brand very sporty Land Rover’s upcoming Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Crossover SUV was caught in the wee hours recently in Pune.
While the SUV's shape was camouflaged and the color was quite blended with it, its distinct features were not prominently visible but since so much has been anticipated about the car, spy cameras managed to scoop it when it was making a mandatory trip to Automobile Research Association of India (ARAI). Although no official announcement is made about the Evoque Crossover SUV price, but it is likely that the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque price may vary between Rs 50 lakh for the base diesel model, going all the way up to around Rs 63 lakh for the top end three-door 240 Bhp petrol variant.Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Crossover is expected to be launched by November or at the end of this calendar year. The Range Rover Evoque SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.2 litre CRDi diesel engine good for 190 Bhp of peak power. Styling and exteriors will be the major focus of the brand as usual. Internationally, the car is available in 5 door guise but, for Indian market Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is expected to offer a 3-door guise. Range Rover Evoque Crossover will be imported through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route from Hailwood in UK. After a while the Evoque Crossover SUV will assembled at Chikli plant in Pune.The CKD (completely knocked down) kits of the car will be produced by Tata Motors-Mercedes Benz erstwhile production at this plant by mid 2012. Booking of Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Crossover SUV are also accepted by few Jauguar-Land Rover dealers in India. CKD assemblage of the car would cut the cost on Tata Motors owned Jaguar-Land Rover and the Evoque Crossover would then be available under 40 lakh. After CKD, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Crossover will be a probable menace for BMW X3 Crossover and the upcoming Audi Q3 Crossover.
